file voldriver.exe on USB

Just got my USB stick back and there is now a file on it called voldriver.exe. This file when deleted regenerates itself and has also put a shortcut to the USB in the root directory and moved all the files into a subdirectory (unnamed) if I coy the files back to the root directory they are automatically put back in the sub directory. How do I get rid of this voldriver, exe

Re: file voldriver.exe on USB

Hi @atyrautony,

Greetings from McAfee.

We request you to run a manual scan on the USB stick and also run a full scan on the PC to determine that it is a legitimate file.

Re: file voldriver.exe on USB

Hi. The VolDriver.exe is a Trojan Coin Miner virus that is distributed from Software bundling, Intrusive advertisement, redirects to shady sites, etc. It can be removed using Trojan remover apps.
