Wouldn't scan, so uninstalled this to reinstall and now it will not reinstall

I've been having issues for a couple of weeks but have not had enough time to sit down and deal with this issue.  I've been reading some other suggestions and followed them but none has worked.  I downloaded the stinger, but it won't run.  I downloaded Malwarebyte but that won't run either.  I uninstalled and tried to reinstall Mcafee total protection but this is failing as well.   Help!!!   Now I'm not protected at all.  This all seemed to happen after an update that was recently installed.  It started with the virus scan turning off real-time scanner.  Then I tried to run a regular scan and this failed and I've been trying to fix it ever since.  I have Windows 7.  I had Mcafee version 11.6 until I uninstalled it to reinstall.    Any suggestions??  Help!!!

Restart the computer

Run the below tool to remove the Junk files from the computer

Install all the Microsoft windows updates

Restart the computer after installing the windows updates

Click HERE and login to McAfee account

This did not help either.  I removed McAfee traces, restarted.  Ran the junk files removal.  Updated windows and tried to reinstall McAfee but it says there is a McAfee master installer has stopped working and windows is trying to find a solution and then it shuts down.

If you still have Malwarebytes Free installed can you try running it in Safe Mode?  Actually if you boot into Safe Mode with Networking, you may be able to update it and run it as well.

Re: Wouldn't scan, so uninstalled this to reinstall and now it will not reinstall

Unfortunately, there is a runtime error everytime I try using/installing the malwarebyte too.

Run-time error '-2147417848 (80010108)'

Automation error.

The object invoked has disconnected from its clients.

Anyone else have any other suggestions?

Until Karthik comes up with something I have to ask you if you've run any registry cleaners lately?   If so is there a restore feature?

Also is Windows totally up to date, including any parts you may or may not use such as Internet Explorer?

Re: Wouldn't scan, so uninstalled this to reinstall and now it will not reinstall

Karthiks may respond during the night your time due to his location and work shift, however on your other post I advised you to contact Technical Support, so if Karthik doesn't respond, that's your best bet.

Good luck.

Re: Wouldn't scan, so uninstalled this to reinstall and now it will not reinstall

Many thanks for your prompt reply.

I have just received Windows message saying that "McAfeeSetup is incompatible."

It's really peculiar given that Asus laptop comes with trial McAfee software which I just wanted to replace with another license version.
