Which ".exe" file do I use when an application asks for Virus Scan info?

Hello,

I'm trying to set up a messenger application that allows for file transfer. In the preferences section, it asks for the Virus Scan info. My problem is that I don't know which .exe file to point it to. Can anyone help?

Thanks.

VirusScan version: 13.15

Build: 13.15.113

Re: Which ".exe" file do I use when an application asks for Virus Scan info?

Hello,

It would be any messenger app, or any other app for that matter, such as the ZIP app I use, which allows me to designate whether I want to use anti-virus.

No router at home, but router at the office. So both..... can you explain why that would matter?

Thanks for any assistance you can provide.

Re: Which ".exe" file do I use when an application asks for Virus Scan info?

We have been asked this many times.  Tell it to use mcods.exe which is the on-demand scanner.

Located in C:\Program Files\McAfee\VirusScan\mcods.exe

Alter the C: to whatever drive letter is applicable if this is a non-standard installation such as multi-boot etc.
