Re: Virus Scan using older DAT version to scan

If the Australia version only gets the latest releases before other nations, how does that fix this problem? I am getting the updates to the Engine because whenever I check the Engine version in the About it shows the latest Engine. It is only when I scan things does the Security History logs show that the scan was using the Engine from March 16, which is 1466.

The other reason I believe the Security History log is correct is because I ran a Full Scan on Mar. 16 and it took about 2 hours to finish which is normal. A week later after updating McAfee everyday, I ran another Full Scan and it finished in 30 minutes. I remember reading that if your dat/engine doesn't change since the last scan it takes less time for a Full Scan.

Re: Virus Scan using older DAT version to scan

If a patch for some problem has been released they will get it first, but Nehal offered that information so I'll let him answer.

Re: Virus Scan using older DAT version to scan

12.1 doesn't use DAT's so the headline issue doesn't apply to it.   It updates by engine and uses a different process.

I think in your case the 1482 is the boot scan version and 1483 the live scan version (used once the software is totally active).    It doesn't mean the application is malfunctioning.

Re: Virus Scan using older DAT version to scan

Well I tried the Australia and it didn't work.  I tried uninstalling the software and running MCPR twice before reinstalling and it still doesn't work.  It is still behaving the same.
