Total Protection 2010 turns itself off automatically

I am running Total Protection 2010 on a system with Windows 7.  It had been performing fine for a week or so and then it suddenly started turning itself automatically.  When I try to turn it back on, it only stays on for about two seconds before turning itself off again.  I uninstalled it and reinstalled it, but I'm having the same problem.  How do I get it to stay on?  I ran MVT and my session ID is 24524166.  Thanks.

Re: Total Protection 2010 turns itself off automatically

Hi,

I checked your session ID , however let me know the following

Check the date and time, if it is not correct, correct it and restart the computer

What is the type of internet connection ? ( DSL / Dial-up / Cable / Wireless / Satellite )

Do you see any update running in the right bottom corner, like an animated icon red color with an arrow spinning in it ?

When you open mcafee, on the top right corner it will say navigation, when you click on it to the right you can see about

when you click on about, under virus scan version, it will show the DAT version. Let me know that ?

Also, if you find any of the following programs in Programs and Features (START->ControlPanel->Programs and Features),

uninstall and restart the computer.

Re: Total Protection 2010 turns itself off automatically

Thanks for your help.  To answer your questions:

My computer's date and time are correct.

I've got a cable connection.

I don't see any update running in the corner.

DAT version is 5907.0000.

I'm not running any of the programs in that list.

Thanks again.
