Scan single e-mail file?

I use my ISP's e-mail program, so I guess that's web mail?

I received 2 files , from an almost  trusted source, they are MP4 and I wasn't expecting them.

Actually they show to have been sent from one of my other mail identities BUT I don't remember sending them.

When I right click the file I am not given the choice of  scanning with McAfee. There's no choice at all.

Is there a work around to scan web-mail?

I thought of "downloading" the files and see if then I could scan, but, I'm leary that just down loading might release a virus?

Thanks

Sicnarf

Re: Scan single e-mail file?

Hi @Sicnarf,

Greeting from McAfee,

We recommend you to set-up Anti Spam feature from McAfee to enable spam protection for your webmail. By doing so your webmail will be filtered by the McAfee feature.

Unless you recognize the sender, we do not recommend you to download any files to your computer. Because you will not be able to scan a file without downloading it to your computer. However you can setup McAfee Webadvisor to your browsers which will do a virus scan on any file that you download to your computer.

Please use the below link to setup these features on your device,

How to add a webmail account to antispam

How to download and install McAfee WebAdvisor .

Thanks,

Avinash.
