Real-Time Scanning?

I'm just on the internet, and McAfee pops up in the corner saying my computer is at risk. I open McAfee  and there is a black bar where its normally green, saying it's "Real-Time Scanning." It quickly completed, and all is well and protected now.

It's not necessarily a problem, seeing it's only happened once. However, I'm just curious as to why it does that? Does it suggest a potential issue?

I have McAfee LiveSafe Internet Security if that makes any difference.

Re: Real-Time Scanning?

I see that from time to time here too.  It just means that it is restarting after perhaps upating or some similar reason.

If it occurs frequently then I would start to be concerned.
