I have worked with McAfee technical support and both they and I thought they had fixed it by removing and re-installing McAfee VirusScan Plus from another server. I found out that I had not fully tested the fix. When I try to change the backup configuration the mozy.log file had been showing that the database could not be opened as well as Mozy generating an error on the screen as soon as I tried to save the changes. I used this as my way of testing the fix which seemed to fix the problem but when I started a backup the mozy.log showed errors that the files and database could not be opened. And after that I started getting the errors when I tried to save changes to the Mozy backup configuration.

If I disable Real-Time Scanning my Mozy backup works fine with no errors.

Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Ok these errors have been found in Mozy log, do you have any problem with the actual back up from happening ??? Any errors during the backup process ?

Re: Real-Time Scanning locks up Mozy backup files

Most of the time the backup is successful but sometimes I will get an "unhandled exception" or the history logs will show a "MozyDBError5" error.

Thank you,

Larry

Re: Real-Time Scanning locks up Mozy backup files

Could you please let us know if you use the McAfee Online back up standalone version or the one installed in a suite to run back up of your files ????

Re: Real-Time Scanning locks up Mozy backup files

Hello there,

We had a meeting regarding this and the suggestion were to rebuild the manifest following the below steps ;

  • -          Disable Access protection within McAfee security center ;

    1. Double-click the M icon in your taskbar.
    2. Click Navigation.
    3. Select General Settings and Alerts.
    4. Open the Access Protection drawer.
    5. Deselect the option Use Access Protection.

Regards,
