Thanks Sanjay
Since WSS 16.0.19 cannot be released at this time, McAfee should give us the version we were using before we got this "new version" with the malfunctioning Quick Scan. It would suffice until WSS 16.0.19 is released.
Is there any reason why McAfee cannot let us use the version we had earlier, the version that had a functioning Quick Scan?
Well it is April 8, 2019 and the problem still continues thank you very much! Aggravating!!
Hi All,
Article with workaround published for this issue TS102933. Updates would be posted as soon as they become available.
Cheers
Sanjay
Thanks; yeah running a full scan has worked correctly so far but just takes more time. I haven't tried a custom scan but maybe the issue will be resolved soon.
Hi Sanjay
Thanks for the update of yesterday and providing the link to the article for the temporary workaround for this issue.....this information was however suggested in previous threads to this forum....less the link to the article you supplied....by various people following this topic who are experiencing the same issue with the Quick Scan function cancelling the scan before it completes with no user interaction
Noting that the first thread posted to this form by doctorwhofan47 is dated 01/25/2019....would suggest that McAfee has been aware of this problem with WSS 16.0.18 for more than 2 months at this point....with little or vague information being provided with regard to the release date for WSS 16.0.19 to correct the issue
I understand that you are not personally responsible for this Sanjay....and do appreciate the fact that you are following this topic and providing what limited information is being made available to you with regard to the release of WSS 16.0.19
But this does not inspire a great deal of confidence in users of McAfee products and may very well influence their choices or decisions to be made when contemplating renewal of McAfee subscriptions in favor of opting for a different vendor for security
Thanks again for following this topic and providing information as it becomes available
Best Regards

Hi @KH1
We are taking your feedback on this issue directly to the powers at McAfee. We are positive that the problem will be resolved sooner than planned.
Hi Selvan
Thanks for your response and for bringing this issue to the attention of the 'powers at McAfee' who I would assume to include the engineers tasked with providing the update to WSS 16.0.9 to address this issue
My comments were in no way meant to disparage Sanjay or yourself because I know that neither you nor Sanjay are personally responsible for this and as previously stated....I appreciate the fact that both of you are following this topic and providing whatever information is being made available to you with regard to the release of WSS 16.0.9
The comments were more reflective of the fact that from a consumer stand point when it comes to computer security....people want to feel confident that the product they have subscribed to functions properly.....and when it doesn't for whatever the reason....they want to know that the vendor is doing everything possible to address and correct the problem as soon as possible
Lacking this.....will inevitably lead subscribers to question whether or not a renewal of the subscription is warranted.....and possibly lead them to seek a change in the vendor they choose to have computer security provided through
Thanks again for your response Selvan and for providing information updates to this topic
Best Regards
Hi @kmb62
The issue would be addressed in 16.0.19 version of Windows Antivirus suite. Shall update the thread as the release date is made available.
