Persistent "exspired subscription" notice

I purchased a new CD of VirusScan Plus 2009 in October.  After running MCPR.exe, to clear the previous installation (also VirusScan Plus 2009 purchsed in Sept 2008), I installed and registered the new S/W.  The program keeps reminding that I have an expired subscription.  Everything I've tried won't reset the expiration date.  Could it be that the program can't recognize the difference between the VS '09 I purchased in Sept '08 and the VS '09 I purchsed in Oct '09?
