Hello,
under C:\Windows\ the file PE_ROM.dll is recognized as a Virus everytime I restart my PC...
The file is a dll-Source for ASUS Utilities...
-> This can't be a Virus...
Is there a possibility to send this file to McAfee, so that the workers there can fix this wrong Message of a Virus?!
Thanks for hely
Solved! Go to Solution.
It's whitelisted now. A re-scan should not detect it.
There is a Tool, I see, I can Upload the fIle to McAfee right?!
Thx for helping....
You can either email it in zipped and password-protected as instructed or use GetSusp (assuming the file is still intact) but make sure your enter your email address into Preferences/Settings first so they can get in touch.
Was it right so?! I put before this my Mailadress into preferences
Yes that means the labs have it, and hopefully they will clear it. The process can take several days.
Hopefully it will be faster.
So I hope it will be fixed... Otherwise I write you here back
If after allowing the time mentioned by Colleague Ex_Brit, your issue is not resolved. Post back the (Work Item ID #) associated with your submission. Then Ex_Brit/We can contact someone from McAfee Labs on your behalf to expedite the case.
All the Best,
CD/Catdaddy
The Problem with the wrong virus still exists

I've sent another email, this time to the head honchos of that department.
