Not buying McAfee, and Cannot get rid of ANNOYING pop ups

Dear McAfee,

I HATE you. Your service is bundled with my computer. My "free trial" has expired. It continually asks me if I want to purchase it. I continually say no. THIS HAPPENS AT LEAST 20 TIMES PER DAY. I cannot turn it off. I DO NOT WANT TO BUY YOUR PRODUCT.

I consider each message after my initial no to be harassment. I am recording each time your software harasses me and does not listen to my answer. Once I get to 10,000 requests I will be filing suit against McAfee for intentional infliction of emotional distress. Right now I am at 497.

Sincerely,

willis668

You tried to just remove it fully?

http://service.mcafee.com/FAQDocument.aspx?lc=1033&id=TS101331

Run the mcpr tool after a windows uninstall two times just to be sure.

Try to think of something more fun to do with your time I would have given up and posted here at 10 times.

Re: Not buying McAfee, and Cannot get rid of ANNOYING pop ups

When a Free Trial of anything, no matter what brand, expires you are expected to remove said software or pay up to continue using it.   I would say that you have no-one to blame but yourself for the constant reminders.

However, if part or all of that software happens to be Family Protection or Anti-Theft, then specialist attention has to be given to remove it.   If that's the case I suggest you be more specific and we can move this thread to the appropriate section for better support.

Re: Not buying McAfee, and Cannot get rid of ANNOYING pop ups

McAfee is the worst malware any computer I have ever owned has had on it. Tell it to ignore scanning certain files because it constantly quarantines known safe files? It don't care.. .no good software for you! Permanently disable real time scanning because it doesn't honor the ignore files.... it just re-enables real time scanning so it can quarantine your known good software.. no good software for you! You stop paying for the service... it bloody keeps popping up monstrous nagware that you have only a month left! You disable auto-resubscription? You got it... McAfee has a fix for that and they just take a year subscription from you anyway. And when you do disable it... the have the stones to tell you why you should be paying for "FREE" software. I couldn't believe it. You try tech support and they just ignore you when they realize their software sucks.

McAfee IS the worst malware I have ever had the displeasure of using.
