Ran a "Quick Scan" this afternoon. Initiated @215 pm-Completed @2:28 pm.
No signs of the (Hanging @ 98% issue)...
Good Night...
Ran another "Quick Scan: late this afternoon..( by accident I might add) For I generally allow my Automatic "Full Scan" to run weekly. Getting back to the Quick Scan, strangely enough I noticed a minute indifference.
Initiated Scan @ 5:35 pm -- progressed 0 % - 12% -23% - 37% -56 % - 64% - 84% - 98% @ 5:39 pm.
This time around Paused @ (Scanning for Rootkits) for approximately 3 minutes-Completed scan @ 5:43 pm.
No items detected. I can live with that
Hi All,
Please make sure that you Pause/Stop any Cloud Storage apps like Dropbox or other Online Backup applications while initiating a Scan. At 98% McAfee will scan for Rootkits in critical locations of Computer including Temp directories. If a Backup / File transfer is in progress it will stall the Scan. Witnessed this in one such case here in Support and was able to resolve by Pausing a Backup Application.
As I stated in post # 9,10,11 of this thread. The Hanging @ 98-99% (Scanning for Rootkit) issues has been resolved in my case, especially in regards when running a "Full Scan" It only (pauses) it seems for several minutes,or less and then completes when running a "Quick Scan".
My question being is, Do you think I need to apply the above mentioned (Work-Around)?

Thanks,
If you aren't seeing a total hang at that point I wouldn't bother. It's your call really.
Thanks Peter I,ll simply wait for the future update, as all is functioning fine.
As always, I value your advice.
You're welcome. Mine hangs about 4 minutes, which really isn't that bad. So I didn't bother with the fix.
