Dear all
updated my HP Pavilion 15-ab595nz Laptop with the Windows 10 2H2 Version, with the result that it freezes after 2min. My McAfee AntiVirus Version is 16.0, name 16.0.R29. I deinstalled and tried to reinstall, but did not suceed, I always get an installation error.
Which Version of AntiVirus do I need?

I successfully installed the updated version of McAfee on the laptop running Windows 10 Home 64bit 20H2.

Please let me know the error that occurs when you try to reinstall McAfee.
Meanwhile, can you try uninstalling McAfee again[With traces as well] using the Article How to remove McAfee products from a PC that runs Windows
Then, install using the McAfee Article How to download and install McAfee consumer products

I checked again, that the SW is fully removed and downloaded again McAfee AntiVirus Plus from my account. I got the following error msg while installing:
"Leider konnte die McAfee-Software nicht installiert werden. Fehler beim Installieren der folgenden Komponenten: SecurityCenter"
I tried also the SW Install Helper, but it was not able to "successfully resolve the issue"

This could be due to a Malware or some old third party traces present on the computer. Also, even due to pending windows updates.
Please access the McAfee Article McAfee Malware Cleaner: What is it? to clean any Malware on the computer. Once its done, check if there are any old traces of third party Anti Virus programs and remove them. Check if there is any pending Windows update and ensure its completely updated.
Try re-installing McAfee and let me know the outcome.

I did clean the Laptop with the Malware Cleaner (several files deleted) and deleted manually the ByteFence SW. The installation process did start normally, but at 80% I get the same error msg.

McAfee is aware of this issue and it has been fixed. The update that contains the fix will be rolled out soon. I'll update once its rolled out.
