This forum has good info, but I need to respectfully disagree witht ehstatement taht only McAfee is needed and Malwarebytes is not  needed for a complete solution. McAfee has missed many malware problems and Malwarebytes provides a secondary level of protection.  Malwarebytes is an excellent second level of protection and I highly recommend it to those who want better protection.

I had to rebuild my system twice in the last year after McAfee missed major malware episodes.

Since I installed malwarebytes I have not had to reinstall or rebuild my system.

No-one, as far as I can see, said that.  We always recommend extra tools.   This thread was about how the McAfee installer objects to MBAM and other software being present and how to get around that.
