Log files

Jump to solution

Does anyone know where the log files are stored (home use)? I had a virus which mcafee fixed, but I would like to know what virus it was, etc.

Thanks in advance.

There are no log files that you can read per se, only support can read those, however there are logs within SecurityCenter itself.

Double-click the taskbar icon to open it

Click Navigation and there are 2 spots you could look....

First scroll down and open 'Quarantined and Trusted Items' and click those sections (3) to expand.

Or, still in Navigation, click History and Logs at the left side

Look in the various sections there, most notably 'Threats Detected' and 'Scan Information'.
