Do we have a fix?
Do we have a build number for a fix?
. . . still waiting . . .
No build number given sorry The fix for the floppy drive accessing noise issue was released last thursday to Au and Ko areas and US and UK area tomorrow. It is a staged release so I assume not every1 will get it at the same time. Only available to 12.8 users 13.6 will get the fixes for the other issues this release fixes later on.
I'm in Australia.
I re-enabled my floppy drive and the grinding began instantly, continued for about 5 minutes then ceased. I haven't heard a peep from the drive since that (touch wood).
Not sure if i've got the updated version yet, but here are my build numbers.

were those numbers there before of after you noticed the noise stopped. Wondering if an update came through while the nise was happening.
I got an email with your reply in this thread saying the fix was released in AU last Thursday so I figured I'd try re-enabling the floppy under System Devices and see if it's fixed.
It's possible it was fixed earlier. I don't know. It grinded for 5 mins non-stop then shut up.
I just get the normal floppy seek when rebooting Windows, so seems to have been fixed.
I can confirm you have the fix as it would have happened next boot .
You must have gotten an update during the noisy period.
Is the update to the SC? Just got a large update , but the items updated were VS , SA , and Quick Clean/Shredder.
That should be it. It was scanner doing it so one expects a VS update.
If you have the versions in the post 142 you should be fine
