Java API to call Mcafee virus scan

Hello -
I am not sure if this is the right forum to post this question. Please redirect if needed.

I am looking for a Java API to invoke Mcafee. Does Mcafee support it? Is there any recommended solution to invoke Mcafee virus scan from a java program?

thanks

RE: Java API to call Mcafee virus scan

I know of no way of doing it. Assuming you mean the home (Consumer) product then it would have to invoke mcods.exe, but how, is another matter.

If it's the Enterprise version of VirusScan then you should be asking in Desktop & Server.

If its TOPS then there is no support in these forums. Check your Gold Support agreement or HERE.

Re: Java API to call Mcafee virus scan

Hi javdev,

Check out Metascan. It provides a generic Java API to manage many antivirus packages, including several McAfee antivirus packages. You'll find a general description at http://www.opswat.com/products/metascan.

I hope it will help you.

Regards,

Sandra
