Internet connection times out

Ever since I installed McAfee Antivirus Plus, Aug 12, 2012, my Internet connection times out.

Runs fine when I start-up,  but if the PC sits idle for 1/2 hr or longer you get the infamous

"Internet Explorer cannot display the page".    I click on "Diagnose Connection Problems"

then "Reset the Network Adapter  Local Area Connection".    ( I use a cable modem to access the internet )

Running Windows Vista, never had this problem before I dropped Norton AntiVirus and installed McAfee Antivirus Plus. 

On Sept 2nd, I ran the "patch" that's plastered all over the this Webpage, didn't help.  I also removed AntiVirus Plus, and reDownloaded from the Website. 

Internet Connection still times out.
