Sphinx01 I said above that this is the new 2012 version it does not use DATs but uses another type of engine for detection.(casper). There is no such DATVER or dat folder in the registry and c drive respectively.

All rules for DAT updates are null and void in this version. Something Mcafee needs to address.

There is a way of checking the last DAT's in 12.x but no way to manually update them by downloading an XDAT or SDAT as we could before....yet.

C:\Program Files\Common Files\McAfee\AMContent\content\avengine\min

I moved this section of the thread back to Consumer  > VirusScan after splitting off the last 2 pages because that user was posting about Enterprise/Business products.
