Full scan taking over 13 hours and is 31% done

My full scan has been taking much longer than I expected. Is this normal? It says it’s fixed 1 threat and scanned 622,835 files. As I’m writing this it jumped from 27% done to 31% done, so I guess it’s still making progress.

PC specs 

gpu: xfx rx 570 4gb

cpu: ryzen 5 3600

Ram: 16gb

Could it be that it’s taking so long because I have about 3tb of stuff on my pc?

We are very sorry for the inconvenience caused.

Scan time depends on number of files on your computer. since you have mentioned you have 3TB of space eventually it'll take more time. As a workaround we suggest you to follow the below steps.

  • Ensure your windows is up to date.
  • Remove any external hard disk if.
  • Run custom scans for all local disk and external hard disk.
  • Always Schedule your scan so that McAfee scan your computer in the background.
