I have uninstalled and reinstalled at least three times but it works once and then the next time it gets stuck and the tracker which loads on install disappears. I think I will be looking for a new virus scan. This is way too many times that I have to reinstall. If a virus ware won't scan and doesn't load right, what good is it

@krishna55  This needs your help Users uninstalled as per correct way but scan locks up.

@tc No other anti virus or malware program runnin in real time is Malwarebytes set on real time scanning

Hi @tc,

Greetings from McAfee.

Provide us the following details so that we can check on the issue.

i)McAfee app version

To find the version of McAfee installed kindly follow the steps below

In the search box on the taskbar, type control panel and select Control Panel from the results.

Select Programs > Programs and Features.

In Programs and Features you will see the list of applications installed on the PC
To the right of the name of the program you will see the version of the program.

Having the same issue. tried doing a Quick Scan several times and had it get stuck at 1% , 5% , 8% and complete in 1 minute (normally takes about 10 minutes). This is on a Windows 10 Pro system with 8 gigs memory. The details are:

VirusScan Plus

Version 1.11.279

Release:  16.0 R111

Affid: 101

Last Update:  9/26/2023

Antivirus build:  1.1.1830.0

Creation Date:  9/26/2023

Content version:  1546

 

Looks like this is hitting others as well.

McAfee is aware of this issue ( on Release:  16.0 R111 ) and we are working towards a solution. We will keep you updated as we receive more information.

so when are they going to fix it.  What's the use of having a virus scan if you can't scan. So unreliable.
