I recently bought the 1 year subscription for McAfee for 1 device, ever since i got it, the antivirus slot has the word attention. I've tried multiple times to run a scan and it never goes past 1%.

Kindly try to run a scan making sure that the windows OS is up to date, McAfee application is updated to the latest and no external devices are connected.

Updating Windows 11 doesn’t work!
I have the same problem with this latest download! Quick Scan used to take 1-2 minutes, now Quickscan is stuck at 1%. What's the solution?
What are your version numbers of Security center and vurusscan. That may help the mod.
There is no version number on Internet Security. (in the " About" section for Updates it shows that the last update occurred on Sunday 9/24 at 3:00 PM (ET).
The scan problem started with the prior update.
Should I uninstall and then re-install with the Serial Number?
Is this on a PC? There should be a R number ie R111 or similar. Virusscan should have a build number s well. I cannot get pic posting to work here otherwise I would post what my about says.
The normal response is to uninstall via Windows reboot and run the mcpr removal tool reboot and reinstall from your account. To find mcpr do a search of the forum .

Now the software delays in responding then shuts down. I'll try the un-install / re-install and thanks for listing the removal tool link.
