False Positive Needs Attention

Hi.

I am an indie developer and recently my team and I got the game code signed. All vendors except few did not. Among them is the only significant one - McAfee.

We sent them multiple emails with the procedures they require on their false-positive FAQ page. It’s been weeks and they still have us flagged as Artemis malware for our players.

Anybody else who somehow went through this process? We are pretty hopeless and McAfee hurts our brand and the marketing campaigns.

Re: False Positive Needs Attention

Thank you for the response, however this does not help my issue.

As I stated already - we have already sent multiple emails to no avail.

Try this path might work better

How to submit your company's software to be considered for whitelisting (TS102751)

That said it is my experience from reading here that false +ves get action in 3 days or so. Did you get a reply with an analysis id on it when you submitted it?

Re: False Positive Needs Attention

No response usually means the zipping of the file was not done the way the article says. It hasn't be password protected with password being " infected" and not too big. How big is the zipped file? It size limit used to be 10mb but could be bigger.

If bigger submit the file to www.virustotal.com and post the website link to the result here and I will ping a mod to help.

Re: False Positive Needs Attention

I tried everything - from password, to compression, to changing file name extension. But gmail kept removing my attachment saying it is for "Security reasons." That is why I added the link to the download splash instead.

Here is the link to the virustotal: https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/d8f98295bac42c924ba0a5f12e346627ee386e8873fadf271fcfa2221ff575df...

Thank you for your time!
