Hi,
I keep trying to run a full scan on my PC, however the same error message appears "An unexpected problem has occured during your scan please click OK to go back to the homepage and try running your scan again"
Has anyone else has this problem and if so how can it be solved?
Thanks in advance
Can you post a screenshot of the error?
Did you previously have any security software installed on your pc? What is your computer operating system? Are you up to date with all Microsoft updates and do you have the latest service pack?
You may want to run the McAfee Virtual Technician which identifies and fixes a lot of problems.
Another option would be to uninstall via Add/Remove programs, reboot and run the MCPR removal tool found under Useful Links at the top of this page. Login to your McAfee account and download and install again. Technical Supprt Chat is also available 24 hours a day and is free. Chat is also found under Useful Links.
sorry for the late reply i've been working away, here is the screenshot you asked for:
My operating system is Vista, I am currently up to date ith everything and there has only ever been mcafee used as security software on this machine.
I have tried the virtual technician and it didn't appear to do anything.
Thanks in advance!
Hi Krispie,
Sorry for the late reply,
Thanks for the screenshot provided, could you please try the following steps and then perform a scan and update me on the status;
Open IE – click tools – Click internet options
Under advanced – click Reset
Close all windows and then try to run a scan
If the former doesn’t help, restart the computer and start tapping F8 key
From the advanced boot options menu select safe mode
Try to run a scan in safe mode and update me on the status
Kindly update me on the status so that we could proceed further
Moving thread to virus scan 14 2010
