Details on Potentially Unwanted Program ?

Hello,

A McAfee scan has thrown up a Potentially Unwanted Program but I can't work out how to find any details about it. The screen looks like this:

AVPUP.jpg

Is "Generic PUP.X!t" the actual file name? If so, where is it on my PC? If not, how do I determine the filename? When I look at the report from the scan, it says no PUPs were found.

I searched these forums but couldn't find anything which addresses this (as far as I could tell). Some posts said there should be a link to "Details" but I can't see one. The file link goes to a web page.

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks,

Open Mcafee.Click navigation then scroll down and click Quarantined and trusted. It should be in there.

Thanks,

I was hoping to look at it before quarantining or trusting it - can I assume that quarantining it will not cause any harm?

Yes, absolutely Quarantining is a way to safely isolate and neutralize an infected file until future action can be taken . Moreover, When a file is quarantined, there are 3 things that VirusScan does to render the file virtually harmless.
