Antivirus Essentials vs McAfee

I just decided to try out the McAfee package, which requires the removal of AV Essentials (understandable). But I'm scratching my head, as it appears to be literally the same application, but with a subscription. Everything else about the UI is identical, down to the same quarantined files. Hunting the web for clues as to what the differences are is a fruitless endeavor https://showbox.tools/.

Can someone enlighten me what (if) the actual differences are between these two? Because right now I'm seeing a 1:1 copy with a price tag added on. Or is the point simply for users who 'need' (policy, etc) to be running a well-known AV solution...?

Thanks
