After update error on any scan

All,

I've seen this posted elsewhere but I don't see any posted solutions.

ON: Windows 7 SP1, 2Ghz processor with 1GB RAM

WITH: McAfee Antivirus Plus (security center version 11 build 11.0.608   Viruscan version 15 build 15.0.201)

No viruses, no spyware (always updated and scanned regularly; this is a clean system running with no errors)

1.  Updated the product and the update ran for hours.  Finally rebooted.

2.  After reboot realtime scanning stayed off and I received windows warnings.

3.  Tried update again and this time it completed; retbooted and realtime scanning fine...

Won't scan- full, quick or custom!

Following error:

Please help.

I suspect this update has some type of flaw...

Oh and also tried resetting IE to default settings and also ran McAfee Virtual Technician (no problems found) and MalwareBytes AntiMalware (free) and scanned; no malware found...

  • Safe Connect VPN:  You will receive free, unlimited access to our VPN wireless on supported devices. Users not on auto-renewal have access to 500 MB/month of bandwidth.

  • Eligibility: McAfee® Identity Monitoring Service Essentials is available within active McAfee Total Protection and McAfee LiveSafe subscriptions with identity monitoring for up to 10 unique emails. Phone number monitoring is enabled upon activation of Automatic Renewal. Not all identity monitoring elements are available in all countries. See Product Terms of Service for more information. 
  • Your subscription is subject to our License Agreement and Privacy Notice. Product features may be added, changed or removed during the subscription term. Some features may require registration and a valid ID number to activate. See System Requirements for additional information.
  • While McAfee Identity Monitoring Service provides you tools and resources to protect yourself from identity theft, no identity can be completely secure.

Consumer reporting agencies are required to investigate and respond to your dispute, but are not obligated to change or remove accurate information that is reported in compliance with applicable law.
