In the last McAfee update, ‘True Key’ was installed on our proprietary computer. We didn’t ask for it and don’t want it. How do we uninstall it?
Doesn’t show in control panel programs, McAfee folders, or in a comprehensive search - Thank you for your help, IM

True Key may have been installed as part of an Adobe installation. Regardless, uninstalling it should be easy enough; find it listed alphabetically in Programs and Features as "Intel Security True Key" (rather than under McAfee), and then reboot.
I do NOT recommend running MCPR, since that will also remove your McAfee security suite as well.

As a thought, it's possible you're seeing the (empty) placeholder in the McAfee security suite (below). In this situation, True Key is NOT installed. If you click on this empty placeholder, a page opens that encourages you to download True Key (which you can ignore and close the page, of course).

Remove your McAfee Software through your Control Panel/Programs and Features/Restart. Then run the MCPR Cleanup Tool to remove all remnants/Restart and go to your account and re-install your McAfee software.
Dependent upon which Suite you have, it may be listed as a 'Feature', however you elect to install or not.
Also Technical Support is available 24/7 and it is (Free) Phone/Online Chat most quickest.

Thanks Doug... I was wondering that myself, however neglected to mention it. However as you stated, the Truekey may be 'Available' to elect or not, to install.
Thank you!
