I am running a Pixel tablet under the latest release of Android Oreo. I have noticed that the True Key overlay button stops displaying at some point, regardless of whether I'm using True Key for a Chrome logon or another app that supports True Key. True Key will function just fine for several logons, and then all of the sudden it's gone (the overlay button does not display). If I select the Accessibility services, and then turn off the "True Key instant log in" service, and then turn it back on, the overlay starts working again. After that, the True Key overlay will display for awhile, but eventually fail, requiring that I turn off/on the Accessibility service again to restore the functionality.
Anyone else seeing this? Any suggestions to avoid this?
Thanks.
Android Oreo has a new autofill API that password managers are meant to use. The accessibility service is a bit of a 'hack' and Google has already commented that developers should not be using it in this way: https://www.xda-developers.com/google-threatening-removal-accessibility-services-play-store/
On the 'what's new' page on the Play Store, True Key did at one point mention that it was going to use the autofill API. However, this has disappeared and I cannot find any other information on this. As a user with Android Oreo, I would like to know when the app will be updated to support the new API.
It is so frustrating. It's already March 2018 and no one from McAfee has responded. More and more devices are getting Oreo updates over the air. I'm now experiencing the same problem. Please get it together McAfee. At this point I'm beginning to consider having to switch over to LastPass.
I have not seen this, I am running on my Android device 3.4.0.2 and I am assuming you have the same version. Can you try to reload the True Key app on your device and see if that makes a difference.
Thanks,
Marc d.
Hi,
We are trying find best ways to fix this issue, I have a few questions that will certainly help us achieve that. What is your Android device? Also before, the Android operating system update to Oreo (8.0), was the instant login working fine with the Samsung browser or with the Chrome browser?
Thanks,
Marc D.

Hi,
My LG G6 just updated to Oreo a couple of days ago. True Key worked great until then. I use it with Chrome and some apps. The overlay popped up with regularity. Now it doesn't show up.
Sandy
Hi Sandy,
Unfortunately the issue has been introduced since Android 8.0 came out. We are still looking into best options to bypass this, we will be launching soon a BETA test program to ensure our fix and then we hope rolling it out at large on the Play Store.
Thanks,
Marc D.
