Re: Reply to Employee, McAfee True Key 7 Days Logged in

Jump to solution

First of all, I wish and pray that you get back in health, for a quick recovery.

I will try to explain a few points so you understand fully what is going here. Regarding why I asked you if the system gets turn off is simply because in that case you would be bypassing whatever sign out time option you would have select it, in other words, if you select 7 days in the True Key app and then turn off the system, the True Key app sign out will get reseated and click would start again from 0 upon system restart.

Edge browser, I understand you don't use it normally but again you can make sure as I said that Edge won't be clearing everything upon exiting the browser as that would do the same as turning off the system as I said previously reseating the sign out timer clock.

Final point, it is possible that even if you are not completely turning off the system, that on your Chrome browser and on your Android phone you stilll see that even though you select it 7 days to stay signed in is not getting respected and that is why I said earlier of the known issue that hopefully should be addressed soon and fixed on most all platforms.

Take care,

Marc D.

Thanks, Marc,

As far as the final point, "known issue that hopefully should be addressed soon and fixed on most all platforms." I, of course, understand that and that is great!

Also, I DO understand fully what is going here. Or at least I will 100%n after this last reply/post.

When you say:  if you select 7 days in the True Key app and then turn off the system, the True Key app sign out will get reseated and click would start again from 0 upon system restart. Well, there is no Windows system as you know on the Android phone, my biggest problem with/about this issue. Also, I don't think you can turn off the Android system on a mobile phone.

And as far as the Windows system on my Laptop device, the Laptop stays on 24 hours a day. Even if I'm away or fall asleep which I hardly ever sleep day or night for 4 years now due to illness, the Laptop goes into Sleep Mode & when I turn it fully back on, re-open the closed browsers, the True Key is still signed into. I told you besides timing out of Edge, I've never even seen settings to stay signed in for a specific amount of time on my Account page online through McAfee LiveSafe or on the skins of the LiveSafe program on the computers hard drive(s). You know. I think???? that answers each of our questions.

If I've forgotten something I'll let you know right away & if you're missing any info or answers from myself just let me know ASAP. You do your job so good, even though it took a little extra back & forth between us due to illness on my behalf.

Again I'm going to let McAfee know just how good you are at your job, treating & understanding customers and customers understanding you. Thank you again, Barry

PS: I hope if I post my questions instead of making a phone call to USA Support about the scans not scheduling and running properly, I hope you're the one who sees and answers those questions!

Good morning Barry,

Exactly, there would be no point of shutting off an Android device, I was just trying to illustrate that while other platforms like the Edge browser having the option to "clear browsing data" or a Windows laptop when is turn off could influence this sign out setting.

You confirmed that either way you do not turn off the Windows system and basically just goes to sleep and as well you are seeing the same issue on your Android phone which goes back to say that we acknowledge of having a sign out time issue that will be revisited and fixed, I will try this week to get a better sense when this will be addressed so i can let you know.

It is a pleasure for me to help you just hoping that I was clear enough because sometimes it can get complicated.

Take care,

Marc D.

Hi Marc,

Yes, the biggest and only problem I have right now is having to constantly sign in to True Key on my Android Mobile Phone. The MS Edge & Chrome browsers are not too much to worry about there. However, as I stated before on Android the Stay logged in for 7 days setting doesn't work. Because I have to re-sign back in or log back on Android's True Key several times a day.

Respectfully,

Barry

Hi Barry,

I will find out where we are with the investigation and ultimately fixing of the True Key sign out times not being respected across different platforms including Android.

Take care,

Marc D.

Dear Marcd,

I decided to answer these posts to see if you have any further information on how to FIX this "Keep Me Signed In for 7 Day Period" in Mobile Truekey because in 10 days on 03/29/20 my subscriptions McAfee Livesafe must be Renewed or Replaced.

Just to remind you your 1st answer or post to my problem was: I will find out where we are with the investigation and ultimately fixing the True Key sign out times not being respected across different platforms including Android. & ALSO: I will do my best to push this forward so we can get a fix in the near future. Three of these posts or statements or answers were around 10 of 2019.

As you may have read before (an Entire Year Ago) last April of 2019 I told a Mobile phone agent the entire 7 Day Stay Logged In Problem & the phone agent, after putting me on hold for about 5 minute's, came back on the line & told me how all the Mobile Agents just had a "pow wow" and that McAfee was well aware of the problem I'm having, that everybody was having my same problem, however, rest assured it will be 2 Weeks or Less to fix it for good. That was a Year Ago! 50 weeks longer than expected, nothing is fixed & I'm sick & tired of writing & calling McAfee. Now on 03/29/2020, I'm supposed to re-subscribe to this same broken in multiple areas program? NO WAY. Thanks for trying,

Barry

Basically the 2nd answer to my problem was: Final point, it is possible that even if you are not completely turning off the system, that on your Chrome browser and on your Android phone you stilll see that even though you select it 7 days to stay signed in is not getting respected and that is why I said earlier of the known issue that hopefully should be addressed soon and fixed on most all platforms.

Does this bottom of the page Post by you I totally missed mean RE: Android & Chrome & what you said about them, that you're blaming me? I may not be an IT specialist but I certainly know how to TRY to activate the lousy 7 DAY created by lousy McAfee!

Barry the Great!
