Problems logging in to websites that separate the email and password webpages.

Greetings all. Second post (but only 5 minutes after the first - different question).

I am noticing an increasing number of websites that are suddenly separating their Log In pages into separate webpages whereby you have to enter your Log In details (email address, say) on one webpage and then hit submit before you can get to a separate webpage where you then have to enter the password.

These make using True Key much less user friendly and seem to be a deliberate act on the part of website designers to sabotage customers who use password managers.

Currently, True Key seems to remember the original Log In and then add a new one each time with the Password as the new Log In username (and password). It's both frustrating and, occasionally, confusing.

This is happening at Three (a UK mobile phone service) https://new.three.co.uk/account/login#/
and Avro Energy (a UK gas & electricity supplier) https://my.avroenergy.co.uk/sign-in
to name but two. I noticed it at another new site yesterday too, but can't remember which one now, but it triggered me to register and make my posts today. It's a fast-growing problem by the look of it.

Does anyone have any thoughts as to why this is suddenly happening or whether McAfee and the True Key developers have any plans to cope with this development and make the process of logging-in to such sites more of a seamless experience?

Edited to add that I'm talking about True Key on a Laptop using Chrome Extension.

Re: Problems logging in to websites that separate the email and password webpages.

Hi @Truth_Endures

Please try the following steps and let us know the outcome.

Disable instant login option for that particular sites that separate the email and passwords, Remove  and re-add the logiun manually in to true key and check.

Also let us know if this is observed in Pc's and mobile devices.

Thanks,

Re: Problems logging in to websites that separate the email and password webpages.

Thank you for your reply @Magesh, I did as you suggested and deleted the entry and re-instated it manually.

Unfortunately, the first website that I re-encountered after making my initial post doesn't auto-remember https://my.avroenergy.co.uk/sign-in and neither did it attempt to autosave the entry on first use after deleting it from True Key.

Then, after re-instating it manually, it still doesn't recognise the website as needing or wanting a log-in of any kind. Essentially, True Key is now useless on this site whereas it used to work perfectly before Avro Energy separated the username and password fields onto two distinct webpages.

True Key seems to only work when the username and password fields are on the same webpage but an increasing number of sites are separating them lately.
