Re: FireFox 64 lag when clicking, scrolling, selecting and typing

Hi Allan,

One more thing, it might be worth it to try disabling graphics hardware acceleration in Firefox. Since this feature was added to Firefox it has gradually improved but there are still a few glitches.

  1. Click the menu button New Fx Menu and select Options (Windows) or Preferences(Mac, Linux).
  2. Select the General panel.
  3. Under Performance, uncheck Use recommended performance settings. Additional settings will be displayed.hardware acceleration.PNG
  4. Uncheck Use hardware acceleration when available.
  5. Close Firefox completely and then restart Firefox to see if the problem persists.

Thanks,

Marc D.

Re: FireFox 64 lag when clicking, scrolling, selecting and typing

Just want to confirm that this problem has existed over a year for me as well on Windows 10. I used Edge for a while and had no problem but since I switched to Firefox Quantum True Key has been slowing down web page loading. I usually restart Firefox once a day to fix the issue since the browser experience gets increasingly slower over time. If I uninstall True Key the problem will disappear.

In my work I usually use tools like YouTrack and GitHub and both webpages will display "True Key is slowing this website down" and gives me option to stop the True Key script. If I do the page immediately load. So there is something going on.

Good morning,

Thanks for reporting this, can you please provide me with the Firefox browser version you are running as well as the version of True Key, finally please let me know if you are running True Key on your desktop or only in the Firefox browser (extension first).

Thanks,

Marc D.

Re: FireFox 64 lag when clicking, scrolling, selecting and typing

Hello!

True Key: 3.1.0.9211

Firefox: 64.0.2

I am running it as a Firefox extension. Is there a desktop version available? I have not seen that.

Re: FireFox 64 lag when clicking, scrolling, selecting and typing

Good morning,

You would still need a browser extension (Chrome or Firefox) in order for the app to communicate with your logins through the browser. If you go to www.truekey.com and download the app, it will load the extension first app mode using one of these 2 browsers.

We are moving away from the standalone desktop app mode because the extension first will be more performant.

Thanks,

Marc D.

Hi Peter,

I hope you received the information I sent you by email and also provided here regarding  the standalone desktop app versus extension first on Chrome or Firefox.

Let me know if you still need our help.

Thanks,

Re: FireFox 64 lag when clicking, scrolling, selecting and typing

Hi again,

The desktop app just fails during installation with message "oops, something went wrong". Tried on several computers an all get the same message.

For me extension is still optimal and part of True Key is the integration with the web pages as well which I guess desktop would lake anyway.
