Hi,
I am using a C language compiler (i.e. GCC) to write some basic C program. After I compiled the code and crate a .exe file, whenever I double clicked the .exe file, the file is treated as virus by McAFee and it was automatically removed.
How can I put it in the white list to run? I tried to look into the "Quarantined Items" of McAFee, and click "restore". The .exe file is then restored to the original folder. But once I tried to click the .exe file again, it is regarded as virus again and was removed.
Would you please let me have some advice on how can I run the .exe? Thanks
Please follow our article How to exclude files from scanning in your McAfee security software for Windows to exclude the file from scanning. Please check and update us.

Thanks! It works!
But is it possible to exclude the entire folder? Now I need to add the new .exe file in the white list again whenever I do the C language compilation again (even if the .exe file is in the same name as before).
Thanks!
No McAfee cannot exclude whole folders as too risky to exclude it as malware can spot it as excluded and dump its contents in there.
but I was told last year
that
"file exclusion is limited to on-execute scans...in other words, our scanning technology called 'Real Protect' which checks files each time they are accessed by the user or another program - it will not scan any files which are excluded.
However, on-demand scans / scheduled scans still check 'excluded' files. "
