McAfee is taking up unnecessary amounts of cpu.

I have a i7 processor clocked at 2.80 ghz with intel turbo boost to 3.40 ghz and lately I have been noticing that McAfee can take up anywhere to 50% to 90% of my cpu.

I have noticed that that the main services that are causing this are McShield and  McAfee Service host. I have researched this myself but have not been to find any sure way of fixing the problem. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times but the problem still occurs. I did however see that by disabling siteadvisor I was able to minimize the ammount of times this happens when viewing online videos but now it still happens even when I'm just casually surfing the web. Does anyone have a solution, or can atleast point me in the right direction?
