how to get mcAfee antivirus get out of sleepingstatus?

Jump to solution

Hi !  Since yersterday my McAfee antivirus-security (and anti spyware) went into status 'sleeping' and i can't activate it. What can i do about this?

Because of the 'Pobelka virus' in the Netherlands i've installed Hitmanpro but this wasn't working and after this i've installed  this for fixing the problems:  http://www.mcafee.com/us/downloads/free-tools/stinger.aspx

{both where recommended on the site  http://check.botnet.nu/Fix.html }

After this instalation(s) i can't open McAfee center (there is only a white screen).  And there is a status of (temporarly?) sleeping.

Anyone knows what to do now?  Thank you in forward, kind regards, Charlotte

Run Malwarebytes Free also, it's linked in the last link in my signature below and if you think the infection is still there run Hijackthis and post its log on one of the specialist forums as suggested lower down that link.

The blank interface is caused by javascript corruption and/or the use of non-standard fonts.    Make sure IE is up to date and at its default settings as McAfee uses IE regardless of your default browser settings.

Also check the second-to-last line in my signature below, there is a link to the FAQ that deals with a blank interface.
