doesn't recognize internet connection

I've installed SC 2009 from CD bought retail.
At the activation window it says I don't have an
internet connection (which I do). when run virtual
tech. it gives the same message. I'm running windows XP.

XP - what? Any service packs? What browser are you using and what version of Internet Explorer is installed? What kind of internet connection do you use?

thanks for your response,

I'm using XP Home Ed, version 5.1.2600, Service Pk 3
IE version 8.0
ISP is AT&T using DSL connection
I did have Norton Internet Security 2007 with yearly upgrades
installed. I uninstalled it.

Try running the Norton removal tool and see if it improves matters. If not then I suggest you contact Technical Support Chat directly through the link at top left of the page or in my signature.
