I keep getting this pop-up "You are at Risk"
I have McAfee BT Virus Protection installed and have found no way of stopping this irritating pop-up repeatedly coming up.
Can someone please help me get rid of it (BT say it's not their problem) otherwise I'll have to disable the virus protection.

hello,
i came across this posting earlier in the community ;
https://community.mcafee.com/t5/SecurityCenter/McAfee-you-are-at-risk-pop-up/m-p/668549#M39233
after reading looks like this is similiar to what you currently experience if so than it is fake ?
maybe the last answer done by Deana1970 helps you solving the problem.........

Thanks, but I had seen that possible solution - which didn't help for me I'm afraid (I didn't have "FA Really Simple Syndication (RSS)" installed)
hello,
thanks for the update.
sorry to hear that it could not solve your issue.
however, does the popup mentioned in the other thread with picture looks the same as you have currently or does is look different ?
if it does look different perhaps you can post a picture when you receive this popup again......
Hi cyberdude,
Yes it is that Pop-up, looks exactly the same as the one in that link.
I'm getting another pop-up at times as well, which I'll hopefully attach...
hello,
thank you for your update.
if the picture looks the same as the fake one in the other posting you should think it is related to the program it is mentioned overthere.
however, since you stated that you don't have the program FA Really Syndication on your computer i have no more suggestions i'm afraid.
i will try asking a mod to assist you.
hello Madhan,
can you perhaps assist this person ?
Despite looking previously - I've just found that I did have FA Really Simple Syndication (RSS) installed - how did I miss if before!?
Anyway - I've Uninstalled it and now hoping that the problem is solved - I'll let you know
hello,
glad to see that you checked again and found the program that is probably the cause of the popups.
i had almost asked you again if you would do a re check...........
anyway, i am sure that it will be solved now.
but how does such program comes on the computer in the first place ?
did you receive spam emails with links to click on recently or have you done a install of a new program that also silently installs this fake program perhaps if you can recall ?
I don't know how that got on there; it's a pretty new computer (July 2020) and I've installed Microsoft Office 2010, Malwarebytes, my printers, CCleaner, Zoom, and an App that enables me to upload/download to a GPS (SatSYNC). So whether one of those allowed this thing to sneak in - who knows!
Thanks for your help.
