RE: Trouble downloading from the site

Try following steps

Click on start-> Click on Run-> Type drivers-> Click ok-> Open the folder etc ->open the file hosts with a note pad. initially the contant inside that will be like

# Copyright (c) 1993-1999 Microsoft Corp.
#
# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
#
# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
# The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
# space.
#
# Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
# lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
#
# For example:
#
# 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
# 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host

127.0.0.1 localhost

Change it to

# Copyright (c) 1993-1999 Microsoft Corp.
#

#
# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each

127.0.0.1 localhost
221.135.111.121 download.mcafee.com

then save the file.

Hi

By the way.. Did you already uninstall the McAfee program that is prompting you to reinstall the suite. If you haven't yet uninstalled it.. try this one.

NOTE: Make sure that you are using a cable (wired) internet connection. This will not work for wireless connections.

1. Click start-->all programs-->accessories-->find command prompt or CMD . right click on it, then select run as administarator. then it will prompt you "Windows needs your permission to continue". click continue.

2. On the black screen. type: netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt (then press enter). Restart the computer.

3. Open McAfee Security Center. Click Update then check the animated update icon. you can point your mouse pointer to check if it is downloading/installing updates. If it will be able to install the updates and complete it. you might need to restart your computer, then reopen McAfee and check if the problem still persists. 😄
Goodluck!
