The Java Script Issue on Installation

Hi
I havent had this issue but a relative has a problem after downloading his new Security suite.
The installation removes his old version of mcafee but just gives him the blank screen with the words Label. I had to get him to restore his system to get things up again.
He isnt too savvy with computers so I'm trying from a long distance to help.
I have searched and seen what seems to be the resolve for this problem,( cmd and re registering the jscript and vbscript).
My Question is should he manually unInstall his older version first,after or let the Download remove it.
He has Vista 32bit

The latest packages have an uninstaller built in so should remove previous applications automatically.

We recommend the cleanup tool when there's a problem.

Thankyou EX-Brit for the quick reply. I forgot to ask, should he complete the "regsvr jscript" process before the installation, or wait till he has the problem after trying the installation.

Wait until he gets the problem. It shouldn't be happening. Make sure the computer is totally up to date and make sure it has the latest Java installed and uninstall any previous versions.

  • Eligibility: McAfee® Identity Monitoring Service Essentials is available within active McAfee Total Protection and McAfee LiveSafe subscriptions with identity monitoring for up to 10 unique emails. Phone number monitoring is enabled upon activation of Automatic Renewal. Not all identity monitoring elements are available in all countries. See Product Terms of Service for more information.
