SLOW SCAN PROBLEM - NEVER ENDING?

The VERY SLOW SCAN has been a problem for months.  After much searching,  I have been  unable to find directions to correct the problem.  McAfee  does not  appear to be interested in correcting the problem.   If there  is a  correction to the SLOW SCAN PROBLEM, please post it here  immediately.

DO NOT LOCK THIS THREAD UNTIL THE PROBLEM IS SOLVED AND DO NOT REFER TO ANOTHER THREAD WHICH DOES NOT POSSESS A CORRECTIVE ACTION.

Asking the question "Does it stop on a file..." IS NOT CORRECTIVE ACTION.

I removed McAfee and replaced it with MS Security Essentials.  The scan performed by the MS project found three adware files McAfee chose to ignore.  AND, my PC's performance has SIGNIFICANTLY IMPROVED.

Next, I expect to receive a pro-rated refund for the disaster of a product McAfee sold to me.
