Real-Time Scanning Options

Jump to solution

I've noticed since the recent update to McAfee® Internet Security 15.1 R2, in Virus and Spyware Protection -> Real-Time Scanning, the 'Options' pane has disappeared. All that's there now is 'Excluded Files'. Options before allowed you to modify real-time scanning (such as scanning for viruses using threat patterns, scanning removable drives, scanning for spyware. etc) and now none of these choices are available.

I've also noticed in 'Scan Your PC', the option of a custom scan has disappeared (now only available in the context menu).

Are these things as they should be, or is there a problem with my install?! I realize McAfee has probably removed the option of messing about with the real-time options as they are so important, but just need confirmation all is well !!

As they should be. The scheduled scan now a faster quick scan of system files ( found in navigation listing) and Real time scanning more an on access scanning method rather than scanning all files they are only scanned on access.

Righto, thanks!

Thought that was what had happened, but just wanted to be sure!
