RE: McAfee will not allow me to install software that I know is legit

Yes, it isn't Google though. Where would that file have been before?

I found it but when I try to send it to a zip folder, it stops me and it says it's a trojan.

Is there any way to have mcafee ignore this altogether or turn it off and quickly install it?

It's probably a hidden file. You may want to enlist the help of the Technical Support Chat line in order to find it. Link at top left of the page or in my signature.

Noi, not unless the Threat Center sends you an EXTRA.DAT or apply a general update to everyone to cover it. That's why you need to submit it. Once they get it it's pretty quick usually.

Follow instructions exactly or they will ignore it.

Re: RE: McAfee will not allow me to install software that I know is legit

I had a similar problem. McAfee "found" a virus on a program and froze it. I deleted the software and asked the company to send me a fresh virus free software. They gave me the link, but asked me to go into McAfee Security and exclude a file.  Then ask McAfee to give my new software a "go"  and I have no idea how to do that.

Re: RE: McAfee will not allow me to install software that I know is legit

You open Mcafee and go to second tab from the left ie PC security and open Real time scanning and exclude the file there. Unfortunately the file if detected will be quarantined if a scan either full or quick is run . The exclude only works for when file is run.

Better to submit the file for testing
