Issues with SecurityCenter

Hi,

I'm running Windows7 ultimate with all current updates and IE9 and I have 3 different issues/problems and hope I can find help here.

1) Alert messages: clicking any of the buttons has no effect; the messages stays on the screen:

I looked at boths of these solutions

          https://community.mcafee.com/message/150128#150128

          https://community.mcafee.com/message/140073

without succes! I would have inserted my own screenshot but trying to do so would crash IE 😞

2) McAfee SecurityCenter: Clicking on the "About" link creates a blank white box. No information is displayed!

3) Virtual Technician: Trying to run the virtual technician brings up a message saying, "McAfee Virtual Technician cannot check your computer".

Has anyone encountered the same problems?

Any solutions?

Thanks for helping!

Re: Issues with SecurityCenter

Please open Internet Explorer>> Click on "Tools">> Internet Options>> click on "Advanced" tab and then click on Reset>> Apply>> Ok. If "Reset" is not displayed you can click on "Restore Default". If "Apply" if not highlighted click on "Ok".

Click Start and select Search, In the Search box, type CMD and in the Search results window, right-click CMD and select Run as Administrator.

In the command prompt, type REGSVR32 JSCRIPT.DLL and press ENTER.

After the confirmation message isdisplayed, type REGSVR32 VBSCRIPT.DLL and press ENTER

Please let me know if this work for you...

Re: Issues with SecurityCenter

I would retry your install sometimes they fail or get corrupted

Uninstall

http://service.mcafee.com/FAQDocument.aspx?lc=1033&id=TS100507

reboot and run

http://download.mcafee.com/products/licensed/cust_support_patches/Mcpreinstall.exe.

Reinstall from your account.

Out of interest the IE9 you have is teh final version not beta or TC version?

Re: Issues with SecurityCenter

Best to chat with a tech and if he confused request an escalation call back.

Chat in Tech services link in Useful links tab above.

That IE version fine.

Re: Issues with SecurityCenter

thanks for your help.

I'll try to chat with the tech support. Let's see what they can come up with..

Do you think it could be related to the Java Version or Flash Player. I found a reference in one of the posts and uninstalled flash player without result.

Also uninstalled MS XML core service SP2 and replaced it with XML SP3. No result either.

Could it be related to folder/file permissions?

Unsure as this new to me best to see what chat says and if no chop I will see what the techs say on Monday's mod call.

Re: Issues with SecurityCenter

the chat wasn't much help. The support person just repeated the same things I had done already.

In addition, I uninstalled IE9 and Java, remove McAfee and re-installed.

Still no change..

Re: Issues with SecurityCenter

Could you post the chat session number(s) assigned at the time of chat? This will help Peacekeeper when they have conference call on Monday to give to McAfee tech so they can dig into this further
