How to disable "Computer not protected" dialog?

I use my computer for recording music in real time so I need to disable all background processes. I physically unplug my computer from the network, open Security Center, disable McAfee completely, turn off all alerts, ask it to ignore all problems, and request that it resumes when I restart the computer. My problem is that McAfee pops up a dialog some time later that states that My computer is not fully protected. This dialog box causes my audio recording to glitch. How can I prevent this dialog box from appearing.

RE: How to disable "Computer not protected" dialog?

hi,

try these steps....

- open the McAfee Security Center
- click Configure on the lower part (beside About)
- click Advanced under Protection Status
- put check marks on all the boxes that will be ignored...

hope it helps...

Thanks earthdragunz,

That's exactly what I already did ("ask it to ignore all problems")
It still pops up the dialog box.

RE: How to disable "Computer not protected" dialog?

hmmm, if that's the case, another step i can think of is disabling McAfee totally from the start...

- click Start, then Run
- type in MSCONFIG
- under the STARTUP tab, uncheck all McAfee items
- Restart the computer
- try to do your recording again...

hope this helps..
