How to Disable Startup Scan?

Greetings and Salutations,

I have Security Center 9.3 and VirusScan 13.3 on XP Pro.

How can I disable the VirusScan Startup Scan that runs when the computer boots?

Many Thanks and Happy Friday!

RE: How to Disable Startup Scan?

Assuming it's VirusScan do the following:

Double-click the taskbar icon to open SecurityCenter
Click Advanced Menu (bottom left)
Click Configure (left)
Click Computer & Files (top left)
Click Advanced (right)
Click Scheduled Scan (left) and alter the settings accordingly.

If you are in the habit of storing large numbers of emails in your inbox this could also be the problem. Make storage folders for them.

Thanks Ex Brit

That's the first place I looked. The only scheduled scan is set to Friday at 4:00 A.M.

I'll look at it again Tuesday. Can't do it now. It's on company computer and I am at home right now.

Those instructions only apply to McAfee VirusScan home version, not to Small Business or Enterprise versions - I mention that just in case as you say it's a work machine.
