How can I uninstall McAfee Security Center (XP Prof. MCE)?

When I try to uninstall my old McAfee Security Center I get the message "mcafee.com/agent/uninst/vsoremui.dll" missing! Where can I get the .dll - or is there any other way to get rid of all these icons and stuff?

See How to uninstall or reinstall supported McAfee consumer products using the McAfee Consumer Products ... - hopefully the tool will do the trick.  Reboot when asked.   Run it a second time if necessary.

if you type MCPR in the McAfee search box, it 'recommend' a link, which gives you:

The Document ID you entered was not recognized in our system. Please type the Document ID again, and make sure to use the correct prefix.

• Technical Support documents use the prefix TS. For example, TS100376. To search for a specific document, navigate using the link at the top of the page. Click FAQs and Search on the left, and then click Proceed to Search.
  
  
• Customer Service documents use the prefix CS. For example, CS40021. To search for a specific document, navigate using the link at the top of the page, then click FAQs and Search on the left.
