I have another question that I saw here a few weeks back. After running a full scan I noticed the files scanned were significantly lower then the 2010 version of Mcafee. Is this normal? I am talking about 350,000 differance.Image provided by firefox
I have noticed also that my Scheduled Scan isn't scanning 300,000 any more, but only 170k.
I saw a post about this about a week or so ago I thought. It was Before I updated. Not sure if it was answered.I can`t find it now.
I'm awaiting word on this but I assume it's to do with the methodology they are using in the newest software. I doubt very much that it is missing anything out, just counting files differently that's all.
Sounds good. Please let us know if you here anything.Since Conner has noticed the same I am assuming you are correct.
Will do.
I'm likewise currious as to reply as I also noted, though my full scan ran twice as long as usual (this was after update to 2011), that there were only 10k Registry Entries scanned, where previously there had been 80K. Tx. GB.
Still no word on this, sorry.
Thanks Peter. We are watching and waiting
One reason they gave us which I am checking further into, is that the new scanner whitelists files that are OK and then ignores them in future unless they've been modified. That could reduce scanning stats by quite a wide margin.
When I get another update I'll let you know.
