Quite recently I've been carrying out manual updates but on these (6) occasions McAfee has left me at version 10. Today I did another update and finally received a version 11 and thankfully, even after a few restarts everything appears to be working OK. Event Manager also looks good. New versions are: SC 11.0.623 and VS 15.0.291.
Agree with Yippeekaiyay (post 390) that McAfee should release a statement on this issue. I've had to run with sub-standard protection for over 4 MONTHS which just isn't good enough!
I came by for a visit as it's almost 5 months since I had this problem.
Looks like the big M has fixed the problem - but kept quiet about it.
Folks who had the video driver problem, that made the PC unusable, have moved on to other better quality anti virus suppliers so don't care about the fix.
Other folks have bit the bullet for 5 months and now can move on to the next problem.
What a shabby way to run a business.
They did not annouce it as it appears the fix for the file property issue fixed this issue mostly. Yes they could have announced it better.
I saved a link on this problem since it was the one which, after many years with McAfee, finally wore me down on working on anti-virus bugs, submitting data, waiting on fixes, etc. I switched to K from M, got three licenses effectively free with a rebate via a major Internet supplier, installed the licenses back in July and ... have not even thought about my anti-virus program except when it finds something threatening and warns me. No bugs, no resource hogging problems, no strange messages or failures, no effort at all required from me.
For that reason, I think this problem was the best one that I experienced with McAfee.
This forum has great mods who work hard and I met several fellow users who were good computer people and cared about getting the problems fixed so have fond memories of the forum. Of the product, not so much.
