Yeah, I've noticed and also that many others are having a sort of problem while they are installing the latest version of McAfee (Any suite) so I'd like to know if you have errors in you event viewer when you open the UI, start a scan, update or anything. Can you run MVT and tell me if it reports missing files?

Thx

Re: Event ID: Mfehidk & McShield. MVT not working.

Well the only issue I have noticed is an intermittent "SecurityCenter has stopped working and has to close" so I say OK and it closes then I reopen it from the All programs menu and it's green and OK.  This may occur right after an update but haven't noticed any real correlation.  The strange thing is, as soon as the icon exits the taskbar another one takes its place, momentarily showing two icons. This is all I can find in Event Viewer:-

Re: Event ID: Mfehidk & McShield. MVT not working.

Thx for your reply, at least MVT is only telling you that 1 file is missing... I never had the message of "SecurityCenter has stopped working and has to close" while I had McAfee 2010 (I came back to 2009 version thanks to a backup image) I hope anytime soon for a McAfee expert to explain me what is going on with this problem because eventually I will receive the update to the 2010 version.

Cheers,

Re: Event ID: Mfehidk & McShield. MVT not working.

Anybody with an idea about this behavior? Hope for a technician with certain experience can check it because I discovered (While checking recent discussions) that when 2010 version is installed problems start to arise... Those that never happened with McAfee 2009. At least, there should be a way to stop the upcoming update before it occurs until certain issues are solved.

Cheers,

Give me a little time to research with T3 and I'll let you know what I find out.
